Has Technology Taken Over Our Lives?

This Video is something that everyone must see! Has technology taken over our lives? Are we really this controlled by a simple thing? Times have changed completely since i was younger and is it for the better? That is the question I have to ask myself after seeing this video. 
The use of technology in schools is a great idea and I completely agree with the way it is used to promote more active and interesting learning but are we too socially controlled by technology when we are at home? The answer to this for me is Yes. When i was younger I would be out having fun with friends, making dens, playing football or house, playing shop, dancing, anything possible that would keep me enjoying myself and out of the house. This day and age, everyone seems to be obsessed with their mobiles, laptops, computers, xbox's and playstations. We are not learning the social skills that we should be learning, we are not building on our imagination, we are not getting the physical skills, intellectual or even emotional skills that i as a child was gaining. 

This is something that needs to be considered and possibly controlled. Children should be growing up with an active imagination not one that has been force fed to you through the media or from technology.
